Cancellation and Refund Policy

1. Overview

This Cancellation and Refund Policy applies to all transactions made through the National Human Rights Corporation (NHRC) website, including donations, membership fees, membership reactivation fees, and branch wallet top-ups. All payments are processed through Razorpay, our payment gateway partner. This policy is designed to be fair, transparent, and compliant with payment gateway requirements and applicable Indian regulations.

2. Donations

2.1 Refund Eligibility

Donations are generally non-refundable as they are voluntary contributions toward our charitable objectives. However, we may consider refunds in the following exceptional circumstances:

  • Duplicate payment made by mistake (same transaction charged twice)
  • Technical error resulting in incorrect amount charged
  • Payment made under fraudulent or unauthorized use of payment instrument

2.2 Refund Process

To request a refund for a donation, contact us within 7 (seven) days of the transaction with your transaction ID, payment reference, and reason. We will review the request and, if eligible, process the refund to the original payment method within 7–15 working days. Refunds are subject to verification and approval.

3. Membership Fees

3.1 New Membership Registration

Membership registration fees are non-refundable once the membership application has been processed and a membership card has been issued. If payment is made but membership is not approved due to our verification process, a refund may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Requests must be made within 14 days of payment.

3.2 Membership Reactivation

Reactivation fees paid to renew lapsed membership are non-refundable once the reactivation has been completed and the member's status has been updated in our records.

4. Branch Wallet Top-Up

Amounts added to a branch wallet for creating new members are non-refundable. The wallet balance is used exclusively for membership creation. Unused balance remains in the wallet for future use and cannot be withdrawn or refunded.

5. Payment Gateway (Razorpay)

All refunds, when approved, are processed through the same payment gateway (Razorpay) used for the original transaction. Refunds will be credited to the original payment method (card, UPI, net banking, etc.). The time taken for the refund to reflect in your account depends on your bank or payment provider, typically 5–15 working days.

6. Cancellation of Transactions

If a payment fails or is cancelled before completion, no amount will be debited. For completed transactions, cancellation of the service (e.g., membership) does not automatically entitle you to a refund; refund eligibility is as per the sections above.

7. Dispute Resolution

If you believe a refund is due and your request has been denied, you may escalate the matter by writing to us at our registered office with full details. We will review and respond within 30 days. Our decision in good faith shall be final, subject to your rights under applicable law.
